Two!

(Yes, I actually baked the cake this year)

Our little princess is 2 years old! The time is flying by and Gabe and I are still trying to figure out how to slow it down.
Since we can't seem to stop her from growing, we decided to embrace it and celebrate anyway.

She and Grandma B. kept watch for the guests while my Mom and I ran around getting things ready.


They didn't have to wait long. Soon the house was full of family and friends and the party began. Mia ate it all up! I think she is getting used to parties :)



And the presents. She knows what they are now. The flying tissue paper was great entertainment for the kids.




The big surprise was her shiny new trike.



The look on her face here tells me it was a great birthday.

On This Day....

2 years ago today, our precious baby Mia came into the world.

Fun In The Mud

These are the dark days of winter. In Missouri, that is especially true. From Jan-March sunny days can be a luxury. And rain comes in abundance. Rain and cold. As a Colorado girl, this is a hard pill to swallow.

But we all buck up and make the best of it. So when all the snow melts and we have lots of rain, we get pull on our rain boots and play in the mud.

By we, I mean she.
She could play for hours. Or stand in mud puddles for hours. Just watching the muddy water pool around her feet.

What is it about mud puddles and children?
